WHO ARE WE? www.CharityCars.ca was developed by Toronto’s Largest Auto Recycler, Standard Auto Wreckers.
CharityCars.ca has recently teamed with www.1877EndOfLifeVehicles.com to utilize their advanced vehicle donation and phone technology and car pick-up donation forms.
The concept behind the program came from the notion that Auto Recyclers should be the sole processors of End-Of-Life Vehicles as they have the ability to process them properly.
CharityCars.ca was also designed to ensure that the most beneficial Charity Car program is achieved – where 100% of the funds of each vehicle go to charity.
What this means is that CharityCars.ca and 1877EndOfLifeVehicles.com are pleased to announce that they do not take any fees whatsoever in the charity vehicle donation process.
Auto Recyclers have teamed up and marketed together to create this network which is self funded by the shared group of affiliated Auto Recyclers. Our group of member Auto Recyclers is proud to offer the full proceeds of each charity vehicle to your charity.
HOW DOES WHITE RIBBON GET THE MONEY FROM YOUR VEHICLE?
Our organization sends White Ribbon Campaign a cheque on your behalf for 100% of the value of your vehicle.
WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN then sends you a tax receipt for the amount donated.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE VEHICLE? Our member affiliates practice “Green Vehicle Recycling”. Fluids are drained, and all hazardous materials removed. If there are viable parts on the vehicle they will be recycled. Otherwise the metal is sent to the steel mill to make new cars.
WHEN SHOULD YOU DONATE YOUR VEHICLE? You want to give something to your favourite charity. Vehicle repairs are too expensive. You do not need the vehicle any longer. It has failed emission testing or is no longer safe to drive. You have a shiny new car and do not know what to do with the old one.
HOW DO YOU DONATE YOUR CAR?
The process:
Click on the “Donate Your Vehicle Today” button above or below and fill out the online pickup form.
Or call 1-877-End-Of-Life and follow the prompts to speak to the Car Dispatch Department.
- Call 1-877-End-Of-Life and give your information to Dispatch.
- Dispatch will call you to arrange a mutually agreeable time for pick-up.
- When our tow truck driver arrives he/she will accept your vehicle and its registration; issue a receipt of pick-up and have you sign the registration to transfer the ownership.
- Our local member affiliate receives the car and processes the sale of your vehicle, submits the ownership to the Ministry of Transportation, and forwards the proceeds to WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN.
- WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN will then forward you a tax receipt.
 Donated vehicles are either recycled for the useable metals, or sent to dismantling and parts are salvaged for resale.
Donors receive a free tow and a tax receipt is sent to them from WHITE RIBBON.
Donors can receive an estimate of the value of their used vehicle by completing the online form.
